Private boat arriving on a Southern Grenadines beach excursion

Tobago Cays Excursions & Boat Trips

Take a private boat trip to swim with turtles, snorkel Horseshoe Reef and visit the beaches. Ask about Mayreau, Petit Tabac or a lobster BBQ in season, and we can help arrange a day that suits your group.

A Day in the Cays

What a full Tobago Cays day can include.

Here is an example of a full-day trip. Your captain will confirm the stops and their order based on the weather and sea conditions.

01

Leave Mayreau, Canouan or Union Island

Meet your captain, load light bags, confirm snorkel gear, and cross toward the Marine Park in good light.

02

Salt Whistle or Mayreau View

Depending on the day, start with a scenic Mayreau stop or continue straight to the Cays while the light is good.

03

Lunch or Beach BBQ

In lobster season, a local BBQ may be possible. Out of season, ask for legal alternatives.

04

Horseshoe Reef

Choose a reef stop with the captain based on current, wind, crowds, and visibility.

05

Baradal Turtle Sanctuary

Snorkel over seagrass with turtles, keeping the encounter calm and respectful.

06

Petit Tabac or Second Swim

When conditions allow, add Petit Tabac. Otherwise choose a second snorkel, swim, or quiet beach.

How People Visit

Sail in, or stay nearby and take a boat day.

Many visitors arrive on a chartered catamaran or sailboat and sleep on board in the Marine Park. This gives you time to swim and explore the Cays before and after the day boats arrive.

You can also stay on Union Island and visit the Cays on a private boat excursion. It is a short crossing by fast boat in good conditions, with time for turtles, snorkeling and lunch before returning to your accommodation.

Boats

Which boat suits your group?

For private trips, boat choice depends on group size, sea state, luggage, and the kind of day you want. Larger center-console boats are more comfortable in wind and chop. Smaller RIBs can be efficient for smaller groups and fast transfers.

Ask us about Shaka or TiLove. We will check which boat is available and suitable for your group and the route.

Diving & Snorkeling

Snorkel easily, dive with local registered shops.

Snorkeling is a popular part of a Tobago Cays day trip. For scuba diving, the Marine Park requires you to be accompanied by staff from a registered local dive operator or shop.

Contact us if you want diving included in the plan. We can help coordinate with local dive shops and keep the boat day realistic.
